WHO is Mário?
Mário Marta is an award-winning singer and songwriter from Cape Verdean. He sang in the first gospel group in Portugal “Os Shout!” Having performed on the most popular stages and events emblematic of the country. In 2018, he was invited by the mentor of “Orgulho Nacional” to be the voice of the project, this project which aimed to promote and take the morna, traditional music from Cape Verde, all over Europe (until its proclamation in 2019) on account of its nomination and candidacy for cultural and intangible heritage of humanity, by UNESCO. In December 2019 Mário Marta begins his solo career, with the release of two singles, “ Kriol” and “Aguenta” whose views on youtube exceed two million. In 2021, through the music producer, Broda Music, he launches his first solo album, entitled “Ser de Luz”, CD with unpublished themes, produced by renowned national producers from Cape Verde two of them were awarded in 2021.

Mário Marta debuts with the album "Ser De Luz", musically produced by renowned Cape Verdean producer Kim Alves, the album reflects the experiences of the artist who drinks from the roots of traditional Cape Verdean music, merging with new musical trends.
